 Wallaceburg Power & Sail Squadron

Wallaceburg Power & Sail Squadron was issued a Squadron Warrant (formed) on January 23, 1960. We are part of the Western Ontario District, of includes the sister sites of Chatham, Sarnia, Windsor, Erie Shores West, Goderich, London, St. Thomas, Stratford & Tillsonburg.


 Canadian Power Squadron

Canadian Power Squadrons was incorporated by Letters Patent, dated October 27, 1947, under the Companies Act (Canada) as a corporation without share capital. Recognizing its broadening membership identity, growth and market trends, in 1985 the corporation changed its name to Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons (“CPS”) and added, in the French language, Les Escadrilles canadiennes de plaisance (“ECP”).

 Objectives

The objectives of CPS are to perpetuate a fraternity of boaters of sufficient numbers, strength and vigor to achieve our ongoing aims of establishing high standards of navigation and seamanship; to provide training and study courses and facilities in the field of Boating, Seamanship, Piloting, Navigation and the safe handling of boats of all kinds, and to cooperate with the agencies of Canada charged with the enforcement of Laws and Regulations relating to navigation.
